Lighthouse Birthday Card

Post by paddlegal »

A friend is having a birthday tomorrow and she's batty over lighthouses. This SU kit called High Tide was ideal for her. ( I really bought it for the gull stamp! ). The 4 panel card you're familiar with this time is actually an SVG file! It uses a 12X12 sheet and does not require piecing it together...from Lori Whitlock. It also cuts the base mattes.

Gorgeous card!! I'm riding the fence about buying that stamp set... since it's not "our" lighthouses.... but it makes such a gorgeous scene!!

Thanks everyone! This was a fun card to make. I don't feel like I'm good at "scenic" cards but this set really made it pretty easy with all those elements. There's much more to this set I didn't use.

Debi, as I mentioned my sole purpose in buying this set was for the gulls. I've looked for gull stamps but this one was just right. Plus there are also shorebirds in the set as well. The light house, which is a double stamp process, was a bonus. I think you'd enjoy this set.

Farley, what does Lori call that file? Can't locate it in her shop. Thanks.

By the way, Debi, very few stamps depict OUR lighthouses. I just give into it and go with it. Although I do have a few from Oregon stamp shops which depict our beloved Oregon coast lighthouses.

Oh, wow, Farley, I love that card. Those gulls are really nice. But it's not either of my lighthouses.

Here's the link and you'll love Lori's example.

The base will use a 12X12 paper. But it's really tight, so beware in setting up your blade position and paper.

Thanks. And yes, I like it. I may have to buy this svg.

So if it doesn't require piecing, is it a bit smaller than your original?

Yes it's just a bit smaller. The file will also make the mattes. I had to hand cut the white panels that I stamped on and it's weird sizes.
