August Cards

Post by nancine »

I've been playing with some of the challenges at club scrap today. Tomorrow I need to work on something else

Love those! I may have to try to CASE the second one. I love that die cut frame, and the whole layout of it is really nice.

Sorry they are sideways on apple devices!

I clear embossed the jelly fish then used three colors of Distress Oxide inks. Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Broken China. Smoothed some on craft sheet, spritzed with water and used acrylic block to transfer color to paper (watercolor paper). Instead of dipping paper in ink I used the block as a tool.

Wow! These are great. I'll repeat, that oval is elegant. And you know I adore the jellyfish. Great technique.

Love the jellyfish card. I, too, was going to ask how it was done, then had another look and figured out exactly what you said. I think the organic nature of the stamp really lends itself to this technique.

Ah, I thought it was white resist but maybe something else as well. I love that look and don't do it often enough.

Here's another challenge card, use punches. I used a circle & an arrow punch.

That's lovely, Nancy! This card reminds me that I should try to get a few more masculine-feeling cards in my stash. That card would be lovely for anyone, for sure. But when I saw it, the first thing I thought was that my grandpa would probably like that card.

Now these cards were fun! They are "turnabout" stamp set from Concord and 9th. Everything you see came with the set... all the stamps and dies. Using my Catherine Pooler inks too :)

Very pretty Nancy! So, the sunburst effect - is that a stamp?
