Wow, that is really nice. I especially love the clock stuck in one of the pockets. There is one like that in our town.

I was just thinking yesterday how much I like all the Graphic 45 stuff but it seems like such a distinct style that I hesitate to buy it and find it hard to use. It makes great projects like this one but then what? Will you add photos and journaling? A lot of what I see are decorative pieces like the ones that Shelly Hickox makes and puts on her blog. Christy? :anyone:

Love this project!

Marianne - I, too, love G45 papers but find them a little difficult to use in LOs. It's finally dawned on me to cut the heavily patterned pages down to elements, and use the overall patterned paper as background or accent papers. The stuff is just too good not to use.

And now I'm going back to my tofu laden all natural tortilla casserole and black beans lunch. Yuck. Note to self - read the label!

Christy this is awesome. I have a pile of G45 and I'm usually at a loss for how to use it best.

Marianne…exactly my thought. G45's style is so distinctive to the point I feel that it is all starting to look alike to me and I'm not sure what to do with it. I fell for their 12 Days of Christmas and then did nothing with it. Then there's the other 12x12 pads I've fallen for and not done a whole lot with it. My favorite is Song Bird.

Farley, I think Pam is on to something, using it in small doses with a plainer overall background to get our feet wet. Maybe trying to mix it with other paper. I agree their style is very similar from one line to another. I was just looking at the post today of Rhea on http://starrgazercreates.blogspot.com/
She's been on their design team for a year. Lots of projects and different collections but there is a certain look to it. Which I like but....

They make great cards! ;) I've used G45 papers for projects, such as making a shadowbox for my oldest niece using the Halloween in Wonderland line, and I've started on a wizrd of Oz mini book using that line, but aside from that I find they work well for cards more than layouts. I may have to try cutting out elements use use, because it's the busyness that gets to me too. I do like many of the backside designs for various projects. Don't think I've done a single LO with any G45 papers..... just all kinds of other projects! I love what Jim the Gentleman Crafter does with G45 & TH. That man has quite the imagination.

Marianne
I agree with all.
G45 while beautiful is also very intimidating.
I found once I started cutting out images it was easier to work with…bit still no way can I use them as is for layouts.

Hey thanks for the link Marianne. Now I feel even more intimidated.   But wow…amazing stuff. I really need to give it a try. But that fussy cutting is usually more work than I'm willing to do. Now that I have a KNK, I am L.A.Z.Y.!

Monica, I like Gentleman Jim's designs too. Very creative. He's been a guest artist at a paper craft store up in Chico. It's a bit of a drive from here but one of these days I'd like to go there. I hear great things about that shop.

I'm glad it's not just me.
A lot of the people who do amazing things with tim stuff are also very into G45. That is how I see a lot of it, links from tim, etc.
I just don't have the space to display or the people to make those kinds of projects for as gifts.
Maybe we need a G45 challenge this month: use it on a layout.

Oh, Farley, I love that little shop. I always stop there after a trip to our favorite brewery in Chico.

Regarding Graphic 45, I agree with all. I adore the images but I haven't done a cotton pickin' thing with any of the pads I have purchased. It is very intimidating.

Maybe we should all challenge one another to do something with at least two pieces of Graphic 45. Too bad I'm on to a new month and a new motif. I do have a sheet with bicycles. And guess what, I didn't use it last month.
