April 2014 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
April 2014 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
Sorry I'm late. As usual. I finished a layout last night and then, after the fact, realized since it came from a sketch, I could use it here. I've been so busy with scrap classes and my own layouts that I kinda forgot about posting a challenge. Sorry, gals.
Anyway, here's the sketch. It's one from an Allison Davis class I took. Extra credit if you use some die cuts on your layout. Hope to see some layouts soon.

Re: April 2014 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
And here is my layout. Multi-tasking as usual, I am also posting this over at The Stamps of Life since I used the Crazy Daisy dies to replicate stained glass. I colored the parts with gelatos and was very happy with the result. I also used gelatos with the Club Scrap Tilescapes stamp to put some texture on the plain cardstock. Other than my handwriting, I am quite pleased with this layout. The photos depict the stained glass windows at Our Lady of the Sioux in Chamberlain, South Dakota. I was tickled to find one of Kateri Tekakwitha, one of my childhood "idols." I read her biography in grade school and it always stuck with me. Thanks for looking.

Here's my version.
More random photos of the emirate of Sharjah. Most of these are taken while driving to and from Mia's school or the grocery. I am such a typical tourist walking/riding around with a camera in my face - but I'm always happy to have 100s of photos when I get home from a trip!

It's really nice to see other peoples' travel layouts. Very interesting, Jen and Pam.

nice layouts ladies
Re: April 2014 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
Very nice, Pam. That lace paper works great with your subject matter. I always have a camera out. My husband mocks me. Even today while we were out and about. I feel I am a tourist in my own town. I like to look at things as if it's the first (and last) time I may see it. I have to tell you, there are so many things in Sacramento that I always intended to photograph SOME DAY. Didn't do it and the sign got taken down or the building torn down. Nothing lasts forever.

Thanks.
I've had that doily paper for too long. It felt good to get it on a layout!

I've been scrapping my fingers to the bone (see the evidence in my thread "Dubai layouts") but it's been lonely here...
This page design is nice for using those 12 x 12 shaped sheets of cardstock. (some are large scalloped circles) I have the remnants of a pad of them. I should pull them out and use them up...

I actually have a layout done, but not a picture of it to post. I need to take pictures of the ones I did a couple weeks ago. I'll add it to the "List o' things to do"!

I have a couple layouts done too. Still need to get pics of them. Have been busy cleaning and getting ready for Easter. But I'm always checking in!
Re: April 2014 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge
I totally missed this thread initially, and I love that sketch. I'll try to get one in before the end of the month. April has certainly been a busy month though - lots of stuff going on with scouting this month, and that's been absorbing much of my weekends. And I've completely gotten out of the habit of scrapping in the evenings after the kids go to bed. For the past year, I've been going to bed when the kids do, so that I can go to work at 7:30am.
I'm hoping for some scrappy time on Sunday. And I'll add this sketch to my list.
