NSD 2014 2 p.m. challenge

Post by pamcook »

Create a background using gelatos, mist, paints...and a stamp set
Use some washi tape
Use a touch of gold
Minimum of 3 patterned papers

Here's a link to a video if you need a bit of inspiration - http://www.shimelle.com/paper/1995/maki ... li-oliver/

I absolutely do. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't think all of us could do it.

That's another of Shimelle's posts that I want to do. But I'm still working on the 10 am challenge.

I fear I won't complete any of these challenges today. I just don't work well on a clock. But I will try to do each one in the coming weeks. I do appreciate the time and thought you have all put into this.

Here's my take on it. Not thrilled with the result but it was certainly fun to make. Kenan and Mia sharing dessert after supper one evening at the beach (7/12). They both had huge shrimp suppers - we bought the brownie sundae for all of us to share. It didn't happen. Those two ate like they hadn't eaten in weeks. It was too funny!

I don't have a lot of stamp sets that aren't a specific theme - holidays, etc. - so this one wasn't easy. I dug through all of my stamps and came across a set of Donna's stamps that were pretty generic. I loved the hearts on Pam C's LO in the (I think) 8:00 a.m. thread, so this is a definite nod to that. I only have two (count 'em!) rolls of Washi tape, so that's the stripe on the banner. I had misgivings when I started this LO, but I actually feel pretty good about the end result.

The background paper is actually white - don't know why it's showing up as off white.

Here's mine. I loved that layout Ashli did on shimelle.com so really wanted to try it. I used a random selection of leaves, clock, key, geometrics, etc. Watercolor was sloshed around a few times. Gold paint was flicked and painted, two washi tapes were applied, and the 3 patterned papers are the 3D leaves and keys. I hope that is all I needed!
