NSD 2014 6 PM Challenge
This challenge is for your most masculine LO. Please use the following:
1. The colors black and red
2. Some sort of metal embleshiment.
3. Two or more pictures
This challenge is open until midnight (whatever time zone you live in) on Sunday night. I'll draw a winner and send them a little prize.

Good challenge, Jenni.
Re: NSD 2014 6 PM Challenge
I did the single photo I had for one of my co-workers birthday lunch. The metal is around the brads. I don't have much in the way of metal embellishments.
Thanks for the challenge Jenni!

Wow, great layout! I love the cameras and the balance of the vertical and horizontal strips.
Actually I see what I am trying to achieve in my the current layout I am working on.

Thanks! I actually started with a challenge that said to use only scraps, so I pulled out a bunch of kit leftovers, and then found a sketch in the "One on One" sketch book from Scrapbook Generation". Even the cameras were cut out from patterned paper.

It is a great layout Julie! Don't you love using up scraps?
Here's mine - also bits and pieces and left overs. The brown stars are rusted metal. I picked them up in an antique store a couple of years ago. I've taken 8 photos of this layout and this is the best. Sheesh.

Here's mine. I only had one photo for this layout but the rest is there.
That background is ancient, from back when I used to glue scraps to paper thinking I could use them up that way. Never worked! They kept multiplying in plastic bags when I wasn't looking.
Our local commuter train is called the MARC, hence the spelling in the title. The black gear pieces are embossed metal then sanded to expose the silver backing.
And I just want to say that this layout is all the reasons why I love doing challenges. Challenges wake up my brain and give my scrapping a jolt. I love the kick they give me to look at my supplies differently and pull out different things. When I read Jenni's challenge, black and red and metal, it really woke me up. I haven't done something like this for ages and I used to love putting metal on layouts. I found the little embossing folder with the gears that I forgot I had. I got to use those silver metal letter stickers and that background paper, lots of brads and other scraps of paper. Keitha sent me a website with train slogans to help with a title. I didn't use any of them but it made me think of using the train acronym in the title in some way.
It was all a lot of fun and that's why I love challenges!

What a great page!
Same here about the challenges. I think, really? what was she thinking? and then my brain starts working. Sure, it might take a few extra minutes but I'm almost always happy with the results.

Re: NSD 2014 6 PM Challenge
WooHoo, I finally finished all the NSD 2014 challenges!! This is our great dog Benji. I love him to the moon and back a billion times!! We got him as a puppy and he was the runt of the litter and no one wanted him. A friend of mine bought his sister and they said if he knew of anyone who wanted him they would give him away just to get rid of him. Needless to say we drove the 90 miles to get him and have enjoyed him every minute. He's smart, funny, loyal and I like him better than most people. In the winter Rod takes me to and from work and he has made friends with all my co-workers. They said that's the only good thing about Wyoming winters is they get to see Benji on the days I work. He's a cinco de mayo baby and turned 4 this year.
