Jennifer's June 2016 LOAD layouts

DAY ONE

Funny story here. I took my photos of the layout and then came out to the computer to post. I noticed looking at the layout that one of my airplanes had taken off and wasn't where I placed it. Hubby and I searched all along my path to the kitchen looking for that darned airplane. Roy told me to just cut another one, which I did. Then I took another couple photos, uploaded and viewed on the screen. I immediate found the missing airplane. Sharp eyes will see where it had flown. I'm not going to photograph it again so you'll have to live with it. But that's NOT part of my design plan.

Papers are from the Jet Set pad from WRMK. Airplane die from Technique Tuesday. And hey, in addition to enamel dots, I used fibers from my stash. I'm cooking with gas.

Layout is about a café where we stopped to eat on our way down I5 from our Oregon trip in 2013. It was a Yelp find.

Day One complete. Woo hoo. (I still think I must have been insane to commit to this challenge and I hope I won't be judged too harshly if I fall off the wagon sometime during the month).

That's a great layout! I love that the little plane went "camo". No wonder you couldn't find it!

DAY TWO

As promised to Keitha, here is the companion pocket page for the May sketch. I just can't do single page layouts. Ain't in my blood.

I finally typed the journaling on a digital Becky Higgins Project Life card. More papers from the Stampin Up Sunshine and Sprinkles paper pack and stamps and dies from Stephanie Barnard. It was a beautiful day at the coast.

I used fibers and three of my new May Flaum buttons. Do I get bonus points????

(Sorry the color is a bit off but I couldn't get my whites whiter).

Onward and upward.

Anytime you use buttons you get double bonus points as far as I'm concerned. They just don't work for me, never have. I try to put them on and they look gratuitous. Every stinkin' time. In my approx. 15 years of scrapping I can probably count on my fingers and toes the number of buttons I've successfully put on layouts. Not the number of times, but the number of buttons LOL. They look great on other peoples' pages; on mine, not so much.
Which begs the question: why do I still have a box of buttons in my studio?

Two thumbs up Jen for great Pocket page and button usage.

Keitha I am button challenged on LOs also. They make more sense to me using them on cards. Go figure!

Woah! New buttons? I haven't bought buttons in years. For some reason, I collected them like I thought no one was ever going to make buttons again. Grandma had a huge collection for clothing repairs but I remember sorting through them for hours at a time.
Yes bonus points for using buttons for sure!

Those whales make me smile. I've really got to use some of my pocket pages. Bonus points for that! (If Pam can give them, so can I!)

Not yet, Nancy.

Speaking of buttons, Pam, I don't have many. But Lucy G recently lured me into buying a couple of May Flaum's 28 Lilac Lane packs and I've actually been dipping into them. Perhaps because they are new???

They're cool little boxes with tiny beads, sequins, buttons metal embellies and a but of ribbon. All on a theme. I bought Paws and Pets and Adventure at Sea. I won't address hoe many Miss Lucy purchased. Ha ha

Thanks for all your nice comments. Busy in my room now.
