Now through November

Post by pamcook »

Pull out 5 items from your stash that you love so much you can't bring yourself to use them. You know what I mean "I'm saving it for something special..." "It's so pretty I can't cut it...". Whatever your excuse.
Use them. Yes, I said use them. Bonus points if you create a kit based on one or more of the items and *gasp* use the kit. Mega bonus points if you post a picture of the 5 items you commit to use.

Now I'm off to sort through my stash. Maybe I'll find more photos hidden away.

Here's my collection of items. Each of them are items I've pulled out to use so many times and just couldn't bring myself to use them. Sad. They're going to get used!

 I know the feeling!

Pam this is a great idea. There is so much stuff in this room, I'm sure I can find something I love but haven't had the courage to use it.

I almost skipped over them again when pulling these items out. I love that tag - all the colors and layers. I've had it for 10 years. TEN. I know I have papers from that collection as well. I think I even have pictures in mind - now I need to remember to have them printed.

This is a fantastic idea! I have so many things that I am hoarding, perhaps not because they're too pretty, but for several other reasons that are just as silly. For example:

Flowers - most of them I keep, thinking I could make my own, and want to save them as a model.
ribbons that are so bulky/big that I don't know how to incorporate them
ephemera that I just can't conceive of why anyone would put it on a layout
mistables, because ugly happens when I spritz things
Creative memories background papers, because they're 12x11.5

Honestly, any of the above things I should just go through a "use it or lose it" kind of purging fit. I won't purge it, because my craft room is the one place I allow myself to hoard things. But I am going to take on this challenge and make something out of the above categories of stuff.

This is what I want to use. I have been hoarding that Donna Downey canvas forever!!! I don't know if I will use it all, but it's some things I have been holding off for the perfect LO!! If there is such a thing. I'm not sure what photo yet. I thought I had one but not sure now.

Good challenge, Pam! I'm going to have to think about this one. You, Julie and Debbie have come up with some great examples.

Oh, that Donna Downey canvas reminds me of the stuff I hoard. One sheet of sticky back canvas Keitha gave me years ago and I'm hoarding because it's precious. I'm sure there are 4 other things that are precious that I can add to it.
Once I get a cereal box from Wendy's husband, I'll do my cover for this year's Aussie journal and use that canvas on the cover. I promise, I won't write "Worst Trip Ever" on it. I'm saving that for the title page. :cool5: :cool5: :cool5:
