April Tic-Tac-Toe (2017)

Post by nancine »

Here's the challenge for April - and a couple samples. I made one using the three items across the top.
The other one I tried my hand at the sketch along with the three items across the bottom.

You can make a card, layout, journal page... whatever! Looking forward to seeing yours!

I was making holiday cards when I realized I could use some of my scraps to make a Mother's Day card to fit this challenge.

It's the top row across--Dry embossing, patterned paper, Mother's Day

I used the TH mixed media die as an embossing stencil, then used gold embossing powder on the raised part. the paper used for it and the polka dots are patterned papers, and the hugs and kisses tag for Mother's Day. I'm still looking for my Mother's Day stamp and may add that.

Another card using the top 3. Still haven't found my Mother's Day stamp, but when I do it's going in the lower right corner.

I dry embossed the mixed media folder again, but this was the plain white sheet of paper I used as a buffer between the patterned sheets I was using because you still get some cuts embossing this way. I liked how only some of the windows cut out on this one. Then layered it on top of the patterned paper.

What makes these dies/folders "mixed media" different from a normal die or folder? Or is it just a name to attract mixed media people?

That's just what this particular set is called. It's the same as any other wafer thin die.

I think it's that none of them are a complete pattern, but more like a partial one. Like one might get by ripping a piece of patterned paper. I just like the look when using them.

And Rachelle, you are doing fabulous things with that die!

Nancy super cards. Am I missing where the sketch and actual tic-tac-toe items are? I don't see it. I've been a bit MIA and trying to catch up.

Rachelle you certainly are making up for lost time with your cards...WOW!
