Okay, I'm having issues. What to do first...stamp or cut image? I've done both, and I'm not happy with the results of either. I'm sure you want only exquisite finished pieces.

Any tips or tricks to getting this done? I've never used floral stamps / dies before.

I have better luck stamping first. No one expects perfection! If they want perfection, they can buy die cuts sets or make their own. 8-) All that being said - does anyone have tips for making the process a bit easier?

Be sure to use a little washi tape to hold the die in place once you have the die right on top of where the image will be. Even with my magnetic base, I need to use some washi tape because even the slightest jiggle when you run it through makes it not quite straight on the image...

Update: I was having trouble with the solid dies, you can't see through them :-o

I found those Itty bitty poke holes, act as registration marks. I had good luck that way with already stamped images.

I also was finding that I could stamp after die cutting fairly well.

Maybe, problem solved.

Any NO WAY's to my using Distress Oxide Ink? I'm not seeing if it is Archival.

I will add some Archival images to the mix.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I've got some nautical stamp/die sets.... and some Christmas ones... I don't have a clue which ones you all may have a use for...

I went ahead and decided on the nautical ones from Kaisercraft.... they stamped really nicely.... now on to some die-cutting :-)

And a camera by Hampton Art.... there are a couple cameras in the set..

I'm sure we'd find a use for whichever sets you choose. I'd be happy with any of them.

the poinsettia dies cut the outline and then the center section so you can layer it...
the compass rose cuts the various layers so you can layer it, also...
any requests/preferences?
I know what I'd pick, but I'm not in the swap LOL!

Get those stamps inky and give those dies a workout.... I was excited to stamp both these sets (since I hadn't used either of them yet) and already turned one of the cameras into a shaker card... it's super fun and just popped into my head as I was diecutting them. Yay!!

Okay then, time to get busy. I did get a little head start last week but now I will get serious.

Mine are done and ready to go to PO. I am trying to clear my deck of all commitments. I have a quilt for my DH to get done.

I hope mine do not disappointed. I was getting real bored with stamping and diecutting. I had to hand trim a few at the end, I couldn't get that solid die or stamps to line up on anything. :(
