TABLE SCRAPS CHALLENGE---WINNER!

Post by ChristyB »

so I was bored this afternoon and got sucked into watching you tube vidoes (like lays potato chips you can't stop at just one ;) )

anyway I came across this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OZg4t8o ... re=related
and was fascinated watching the transformation-even though I do it all the time it made me think.

So here we go (and in honor of Spring cleaning)

I am challenging you to a
TABLE SCRAPS Challenge

you must use only scraps on your desk, no hunting through your stash for this one.
your piece must be 4x4 or larger
you may make as many pieces as you want, just post to this thread
each entry earns you a spot in a random drawing for a Table Scraps canvas from me

if you don't have canvas, use a piece of matte board, box, whatever--kudos for thinking above and beyond.

In my ongoing lesson to you all--and if you come to Recreate ever with us you hear me say it over and over.
Art does not have to be for a reason, it can be for play, for therapy, for FUN JUST BECAUSE
too many times we get stuck analyzing what we are creating that we lose the fun in the process-we think and think and think and then think some more (all that thinking hurts my head some days)
this is a no thinking challenge-grab and go-see what happens, and get messy while doing it.

any questions as always ask!!!!
and above all
HAVE FUN!!!!!

and this is what you are playing for
and 8x10 canvas

That's why I gave until 4/1
as you work on other stuff just make a little pile of scraps to use. The pile will grow quick

This came just in time. Tomorrow is trash day and my box of recycling scraps on the end of the table is overflowing.

I'm covered in gel medium but the base is done. (literally took less than 15 minutes)I'll add color tomorrow.
It's really fun though just adding without thought.
I might have to do another when done this one

Um, does digging from the trash can count? I just did two pages of cricut cuts for the calendar swap, and there are tons of little bitty negative space pieces in the trash. Other than that, my space is relatively clear for the moment. The stuff that's currently cluttering my table is four months' worth of Swirlydoos kits that I haven't put away yet. It's either time to do some serious paper crafting, or quit that club. I don't like the second option - so I need to find some craft time in a bad way.

Oops.. sorry for the mini hijack. I'm going to see what's on the table after I get off the treadmill. I'm on PAO because I'm a procrastinator. :treadmill:

My floor is an extension of my desk so I would say, yes, it counts ;)

don't know what Christy will say but I would say "yes" they count. After all, they were on your table before they were in the trash.
