Studio Calico July kit
Re: Studio Calico July kit
Studio Calico is 6 months - that's why I hesitated. I understand they need to be able to plan for purchasing but I can amass a lot of products in 6 months. You can opt out early for a $15 fee.
Hip Kit Club is only 3 months. Before I joined, I looked at their past kits and didn't see a single one I wouldn't use. Her add-ons are discounted as well. I see myself continuing this membership after the 3 months because she uses products from several companies.
I like that companies are offering kits other than scrapbooking kits. Sometimes (like Marianne said), you just want the embellishments.

Re: Studio Calico July kit
I went back to have another look at the kit clubs mentioned and I really would love to get some kit every month again. BUT I don't want to spend $35-40 each month and a lot of the stuff not be colors or a style that I will like or use.
Then I went to look at Freckled Fawn which does sell an embellishment kit. I made up a wish list of the products I liked best from their store and figured out the shipping which is really cheap. So for $25 instead of $38.50, I got just what I wanted. Ok, it's a lot less stuff and there was less choice but it's what I will use, not stuff I will need to try and get rid of somehow.
Now I just need to get myself to order from somewhere every month or two to freshen up my stash and I'll be happy.

I didn't even know Freckled Fawn had a monthly kit. I have a few of their dies. Need to check them out.

I thought I learned about it here at PAO, maybe it was from that other enabler, Keitha!

I only enable when it's something on sale at Tuesday Morning!!! LMAO
I got some dye based ink petal inkpads from ColorBox at Tuesday Morning last night... a couple for me and a couple for Helen's birthday later this month. I've had a couple pigment sets of theirs for years and they're still full of ink... so I'm hoping these will be good, too and give me some more quick options to toss in my bag when I travel to scrap.
wait.... am I enabling? yikes!!

You're probably right, Marianne. Payment for marketing.
Interesting how much better product looks when you get it for free.

Speaking of maps, I just bought this set from Unity. It's perfect for me since I don't leave the U.S.

I also bought a U.S. map stencil by Julie Balzer. I'm on a map roll.
Studio Calico's kits are cool but I don't need so much stuff and all the add-ons make my head spin. I guess I'm getting old and easy to confuse.
P. S. By the way, I'm sure I bought that set on sale. Didn't pay $29 for it. I've learned Unity has frequent sales so I never pay full price for their stuff.

So, I'm out of the loop. It's been a while. What kit companies are the best for the value right now. Is Club Scrap still popular?
