Thanks, Marianne. I really did. I went to print some pictures this morning and when the selection got to Christmas, I thought oh yeh I've already done those. A good feeling indeed.

I want to show you the journals that I have been working on for the upcoming Christmas
All of these are in various stages of being ready to be given to the grands & great grands. I won't do it until sometime in November for them. My journal is the one that starts in November since that is when I start all my holiday stuff.

Show you a few pages for the inside of Sara's journal. Not all the photos are very clear but you get the idea. I am do some decorating but have put a bunch of stuff in the envelopes for the little ones to add. Each page inside their journals has a white line or plain page for them to color, draw or write on. Judy you may recognize some of the decorating pieces I'm using - Anna Griffin from last Christmas.

That is a nice idea to make them for the grandchildren. I hope their parents will be enthusiastic to help them do the books.

Great idea Cheryl!

Marianne made adorable journals for all of us at re(create) this year. Mine is siting on my desk. When I have those brilliant flashes of inspiration, I make a note in mine. It's nice to have a place for them. They happen so rarely and I would tend to write them on paper scraps - which would invariably end up in the recycling bin during a cleaning frenzy.

Glad you are finding it useful, Pam. Mine is a smaller notepad size and it's in my purse on this trip for those flashes of brilliance you refer to (or shopping lists). It makes me smile about our week every time I look at it.

Thank you all. Marianne I know at least 2 of them will be used properly as they already do journals every day or so. I think the others will also. I just want the little ones to enjoy them.

These journals are so cool, Cheryl. Gave me the flash of brilliance idea that, yes, if I actually made the journal in advance, I might actually fill it in with memories.

Thanks Jen! That is exactly what I am in hopes of. I liked the idea of making my own and having places for photos, notes and all kinds of extras. Mine might actually go until the 6th of January 2016.

Shimelle has posted the information on her JYC kit for this year (I am correcting the year for this thread - got ahead of myself!).
www.shimelle.com
As she points out, you don't need a specific kit or set of supplies to "do" this class/project. A great way to use a bunch of your Christmas stash.

Is this the first year the kit has been available for "the rest of the world" ?

Ok, I read the fine print and sent Shimelle an email to ask about our price across The Pond.

As far as I know, it's the first time anyone outside the US has been able to buy the kit. I did buy her stamp set last year but couldn't buy a full kit.
I'm assuming the price will be reasonable. The UK price is certainly reasonable!
Will post in this thread when I hear back from her (please do so if you hear back before I do).

She is probably swamped with emails. You would think they could work it out ahead of time using the regional zones.

I do hope so! Yes, you would think they could work that out ahead of time. It's still just September, I can wait a few more days.
