I'm a little confused about Shimelle's prompts.... well.. not so much confused but curious as to how those of you who are doing it for a 2nd or 3rd or more year find things to journal about if the prompts are pretty much the same - like the concept of the countdown to Christmas ... or favorite gift(s) over the years.... if I include all the things that I think about when I consider those topics, then I won't have anything to write about next year. (not that I'm already stressing about next year... LOL)

So... just curious about how some of you repeaters are handling things...

I found several photos of some memorable gifts from the past... but then I'm not sure if I should write about one this year and save others for following years. I guess I thought the prompts changed. Or maybe I'm over-thinking this whole thing. :-)

I had a flash last night and remembered a childhood gift that I was crazy about. Found photos on the Internet. So I will definitely be journaling about that.

You can't possibly be talking to me, Question Girl, when you tell me not to overthink something.

trying not to overthink it.... and maybe I'll just mix in some December Daily type stuff so it's a good reflection of December for me... and then I'll do something totally different next year... (like not sign up for anything... haha)

Debi, you won't run out of ideas if you decide to do it another year. If you really read all the stuff in each prompt pdf, there are lots of suggestions of how to do each prompt and you get lots of ideas from seeing the pages completed on the forum. It's a great resource seeing how other people do each prompt or totally ignore them.
For the gift page I thought of something special from my childhood I have never scrapped so I went with that. I even found a sticker to put on the page "best present ever!" so I added the word "another" before the sticker.   I crack myself up!

I have never seen December Daily. How do they differ from Shimelle's prompts?

Haven't read a lot of the December Daily stuff... but basically it's like "Week in the Life" I think... only the whole month long.... so I'm figuring I'll include things like our Fire Department annual awards dinner (which was Saturday night) even though it doesn't have anything to do with the JYC prompts... and my mom-in-law's birthday (tomorrow) and the island Christmas Parade (next Saturday) and and and.... If You just look at Ali's daily blog in the month of December, you'll have a pretty good idea of how December Daily goes. She gives all of that away for free. The class really involved an overview of her past albums, and suggestions on things to document, similar to JYC. I am glad I took it because I adore Ali and I also got a free set of stamps. But I think JYC is probably the better buy. Anyway, her daily video shows how she puts each page together and some of her thought processes. And it's FREE. Aliedwards.com

Thanks, Jen. I had a look. I always forget how her style doesn't interest me until I go to her blog the next time. While it is lovely and so tasteful, I like COLOR and more is MORE! This is the only time of the year I get sparkly and glittery so I have to use it ALL. I really like Shimelle and how the prompts are so thought provoking and offer lots of ways to interpret your own feelings and experiences.
