CSI Color Stories Inspiration

Post by ScrappinJen »

Advice? Suggestion? Clarification?

I often follow the activities over at CSI (http://csicolorstoriesinspiration.ning.com/).

However, my dull brain seems to have trouble deciphering all of the clues and case files and star witnesses, etc. I suppose I just need to sit down and really read their site thoroughly but I'm looking for the Cliff Notes explanation here.

Do any of you stalk that site? Participate? Despise? Adore? Comprehend?

Just looking for some guidance. Or maybe you should just tell me to stay away if I'm that dense. Thanks.

I don't get it either.
I look periodically, love what I see but have to invest far too much time trying to figure out what they want.

Just tell me straight up lol

I was intrigued, so I went and looked. Lots of beautiful layouts posted, but after about 5 minutes on the site, I still couldn't find an actual challenge post. So I quit. Not that I'd participate - I can barely get my act together enough to post a layout on this site. :tomato:

But I think I agree that for anyone actually wanting to participate, it would be very confusing.

I have one friend who participates actively. Come to think of it, she's a designer. Let me see if I can gain any insight from her.
(Jeez. Too many "sight" references for me. )

When they post the "Case File," that's the instructions for the LO. You use the color scheme given; if you're doing digi they give you the RGB numbers so you can match. Then you use at least 2 of the "evidence" pieces, which are the embellies for the page, and 1 "testimony" which is your journaling choice. The CSI Detectives are the design team, and the Star Witnesses are people who have posted a LO and been chosen to be spotlighted. It's just a thematic way of being a bit different from other sites and challenges. I did take a few minutes to look at the designers' posts for the current challenge and they are gorgeous.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only confused one.

And thanks also for the succinct description, Pam. I knew it was something like that but I just get overwhelmed whenever I go there. I suppose if I went regularly, it would start to make more sense to me.
