Family Cards

Post by paddlegal »

Two cards made today. A thank you to my sister-in-law who was a most gracious hostess while we were in San Diego last weekend for my niece's HS graduation. She made our three days down there memorable.

The second card is for my granddaughter's "half birthday" (3 1/2) party tomorrow...her real birthday is in December so mom gives her a half birthday in the summer now.

Very nice Farley!

My youngest son's BD is 12/21...I wished him Happy Half Birthday the other day.

Hoping the 1/2 birthday for your granddaughter is fun! :D

Both great cards Farley. I can only imagine the work that went into the castle; I'm sure your granddaughter will love it.

Thanks everyone!

Debi I wish I could say that pretty orange background was made by me but it and the purple paper for the frame both came from a Bo Bunny kit called Believe. The colors and prints are outstanding in it. It's what I used for that butterfly box card I made a few weeks ago. I am hoarding that paper.

After seeing the castle card photographed I realized that the owls just didn't stand out enough plus the castle needed some bling. I've since added "jewels" and gel pen accents befitting Princess Vanessa.

Vanessa loved the card so much that she and I decided that I had to make more of them so she could "make a circle of them and sit inside of it"...her words. I plan on making one every 1 or 2 weeks until I can't stand making them. But then for her, I'd do anything. Duh me, I didn't get a photo of her holding the card. But here she is with her cake. I know, I know...I MUST get scrapping. Note the owl face on the cake. She was very insistent with daddy that he cut out the whole owl just for her. Dad followed instructions.

Adorable!! And now the owls and castles make much more sense together.... and YES... you need to start scrapping AND make a castle for the layout of this photo!

Wow I'm so glad you suggested a castle on a LO. Seriously I probably would have overlooked that idea. Brilliant!
