I wonder if they are called something else in the UK. It's surprising that they are still made here given their use is obsolete.

School kids and my boss still use them. He also uses a Rolodex, preferring it to his Outlook address book.

I use my Rolodex everyday at work. Especially when the computers go down and I have to look up the phone number to call the help desk

How fun, Kathryn! I really like that quote.

Index cards are alive and well in the film industry - lots of writers use them for cataloging the various plot points in a script, and then moving them around on a big bulletin board to figure out what order the scenes will go in. And then the Director swoops in when he gets the script and re-orders it all to his satisfaction - using his own set of index cards LOL. Producers, Assistant Directors and Location Managers use them to schedule and re-schedule the shoot, moving the various scenes around on a big calendar taped on the wall. My own little version of that for my office is post-it notes affixed to a dry-erase calendar; I don't need to write as much on each one.

It's nice to know that people still do things the old fashioned way with pen and paper and that it all isn't done on phones.

I've done a few more of the warmups. It's a great way to see a technique and then try it out quickly like one of Kristina Werner's recent posts on watercoloring through a stencil for the Alpha card then doing the letters in white Sharpie.
The map looks better since I went over the black pen that washed out during the painting.
