I made a thing

Post by jfugina »

I guess you would call this a slipcover for a K-cup box. It may very well be the silliest thing I've ever made with paper, but it made me happy. I actually am less than thrilled with the wide-ness of the ribbon I used to trim. I'll probably make another one at some point, and won't use anything that wide for trim. It's too overwhelming, and too difficult to get on straight.

I hope to get one of those k-cup drawers that you put under the keurig machine for Christmas. It will be used to hold the stuff I don't use that often, like the teas, flavored coffees, and decaf coffees. But I go through a box of Green Mountain Dark Magic about every other week, so those just stay in the box, and now the box on my counter will always be pretty!

You know if we saw that at the store we'd go for it. Very clever and cool.

I think your "thing" is great, Julie. If I used k-cups I'd be copying your idea right now.

Cool idea! And if it makes you happy, that's the most important thing!

Well darn it all. I bought a wire rack last night to hold the dratted things because I was tired of the boxes - now I'm thinking about digging the boxes out of the recycle stack.

See what you've started, Julie???

Very nice "thing" Julie. Maybe you could have thing1 for coffee and thing2 for everything else.

Thanks everyone! I've been thinking for years now how I needed to cover those ugly boxes, And if I don't get the drawer storage thing for xmas, I'll be making three more of these (or just covering the other three boxes directly). The reason for the slipcover, is because I go through Dark Magic so insanely fast, and this way I don't have to transfer all those cups every time.
