Jacob's Ladder Animal Book

Post by mpizzazz »

I did this last week with the Jacob's Ladder kit I got at the Mothership in Sept. I always wanted to try one of these. This one had papers from Be Still and Simply Beautiful. I couldn't use the box it came with as I kept adding chipboard pages until the ribbon ran out, two extra I think. So I made a paper sleeve to slide it into as seen in the first photo. Added matte of Body and Soul brown on top with embellies from Scrapbook Takeout. Most of the embellies on the inside pages are from ST also.
I painted all the edges of the chipboard pages with dark brown paint before assembling it. I would recommend if the book is going to be handled a lot to use bookbinding glue to attach the photos and all the mattes so it is really well glued. Also make sure you pull the ribbon fairly tight when assembling. I think it stretched but the bulk of the added mattes and photos helped tighten it up.

And one more photo of the book just flopped down any old way.
The stuff in this month's Scrapbook Takeout kit-the felt bird and flower rubons-were perfect for this theme.

Wow, you took those pics in your yard? How cool! The only animals we get are those large sand cranes - love them though lol!

We did a Jacob's Ladder at retreat 2006, and I still haven't put pics in it. Need to do that, thanks for the inspiration!

"mothership" - how true! :geek:

This came out great.
love the garden fauna photos

I made one for my grandson's BD
as the delivery system for a
cash gift. Used photos of their
recent vacation and put bills
in with them. After I put it all
together, I couldn't make it work,
thought that I had put it together wrong,
had to go online to find out how to do
it. LOL
