I love that stamp, Pam, and the effect shows up really well.

Here are mine:
The light one is Antique Linen Distress Stickles and the other one is Black Soot. The only two I own. They don't seem as shiny all over as Pam's does. And they don't look much better in real life. I thought he said any Distress stickles would do it not just Rock Candy. Right? or maybe I got it wrong?

Update: On the video he says you can use any of the Distress Stickles and get the effect. They all seem to be in a clear liquid, it's probably just glossy accents or some other glue they sell.

Pam... very cool!

Marianne... not sure as I've not tried it with anything other than Rock Candy, but when I get to Day 10 I'll experiment and we'll see..... ;)

I could be wrong Marianne, but I think the glue dries matte in the Distress Stickles. As with Distress Crackle Paint, the Rock Candy (clear) version seems to react a bit differently. I agree with you - I never though the Distress Stickles had enough particles for an all-over 'sugared' look - Tim does say to use a thin coat. It's a very vintage-y look. Here's my Day 10 tag:

I think the reason he suggested the Rock Candy is because it's colorless, so all it adds is glitter, not color. I would use the black on black paper, red on red paper, etc. Otherwise you have dark splotches on light paper and you'll end up disliking it. The glitter that you get is a lot like mica and has an "old" look. I like it, but then I'm kinda strange anyway.

Oh, I don't mind it's sort of random, hit or miss, effect but I wouldn't describe it as an all over sugary effect. I noticed that Tim mostly only uses the clear or white versions of a lot of the products.

Since we were talking about the DIstress Stickles, I used one of the alternate backgrounds with Rock Candy Stickles Still need to do Day 9, but I'll get there.... ;)

And an extreme close-up to show the stickles...

The Rock Candy must be a lot chunkier than the others. The ones I used just had glitter in and a clear liquid to glue it down. They are smooth looking.

Love all the examples ladies.

I still need to view a LOT of the videos...so far behind. Haven't even done my first day's home work yet! I'm a bad student...
Perhaps there is summer school in my future?

Lol... the beauty of these classs is the ability to jump in at any time. I have plans to do a card series using each of the techniques just to get them firmly planted in my noggin.

Marianne... I haven't had tried the colored Distress Stickles yet to see, but I will post here when I do. That tag was one I was fussing with and decided to cover with Rock Candy on a whim. I'm not sure how 'thin' a layer Tim actually soes, but I add more Stickles to spread around until it's blingy enough for me.
