I might even have a few of those paint
strips from when they were in vogue
and I hit Home Depot. They look
really nice.

Debi, I love these! Funny, I keep bringing a huge commercial set of chips to ReCreate and no one ever takes it. I have high hopes that some of us will be inspired this time!

That'd be perfect..... I had one once, too.... not sure if it made it through Irene or not... it hasn't come back into the house in any of my trips from the storage truck... I may have to look for it.... so many "assorted boxes" still... makes it hard to search though... LOL

Well darn it all - I should have grabbed some of those but nobody showed us the finished product. Wish I'd seen these before we did our bookmark swap a few months ago.

Well I tried it, Pam, but the strips in the book are really slick. I had to use Staz-on and then heat emboss it, even. I think the trick must be to find strips with a more matte finish. So you didn't miss anything.

I'll grab a couple next time I'm in Lowe's and try this. It really is a pretty look.

I like this idea a lot. Those paint chips would make a nice sturdy base, and now that Nicole is reading longer books (and several at a time - she's not one to commit - LOL), we're always in need of bookmarks. I actually used an expired credit card the other day because it was all that was handy.

Also, this would be a great project for both her and Jake that wouldn't require much supervision. :D
