July 2012 Card Sketch Challenge

Here is a sketch I have prepared for the July Card Sketch Challenge. I saw it in a recent magazine and thought it would make a fun patriotic card so that sample will also follow. Hope you are inspired to make a card this month. Remember, it's part of Camp PAO-WOW!!!

And here is the card I made as my sample. It's my first ever card using Authentique products and I'm in love. This paper is from their Glory collection. The stitch lines were stamped with Fired Brick Distress Ink with an unmarked stamp from my stash. The stars were punched with an ancient punch, probably the first one I ever bought. Trying to use old tools. Trying to use ANY tools. Covered the stars with Frosted Lace Stickles. All edges inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Card base is from Club Scrap Sparkle kit. Thanks for looking. I'd love it if you joined me in making a card from this sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch. I needed to combine the sketch with birthday cards, so I used hearts instead of stars. (and would you believe that I don't have a star punch? What is up with that?

)

Oh my goodness, Paula...we must have been on the same wavelength. I made a card with hearts as well. I do not have a star punch either.

I need to get the card posted.

As I was working on my birdcage I had cut all these papers so I made a striped paper with scraps
I cut in strips. Blue is CS but white and red are from archivers.
edged in black india ink
