... saying that I'm in England, have been mugged, and that I need you to send money - please DON'T! My FB account has been hacked.

I'm alive and well in NC, have not been mugged, and am working on LOs for PSL.

But if you still would like to send me some money......

I've heard some stories about Facebook......hence - I quit my farm and only reply to certain post........

I just sent the text of the message to FB security and they disabled my account for security reasons. Oh well, I spent way too much time over there anyway. :lol:

I got one of those messages a couple of months ago from a cousin. What a scam these people have going. Hope you have it taken care of for good.

Alita was good enough to send the text of the "conversation" to Neith, and I sent it to security. It contains an address and a telephone number for the schmuck who's pretending to be me and should be more than enough info to catch them. I've changed passwords on my email accounts and half a dozen other places, so at this point in time, I'm not even sure what I can and can't get into. :angry48:

I was thinking about getting on my FB privacy soapbox recently, so I'll do it now.

Rant alert!

Those of you on FB may recall a little status game that I think was a bad one ... I juggled my cat in a space ship because I'm so cool ... remember that one? Add that to posting old pictures and/or joining a group for the class of whatever year. When that status game hit, I lied!

Please consider there are times to lie, take the time to set your privacy settings, and be careful what you're saying that seems innocent but could be used against you.

Actually, this may be exactly what I needed to get me off of Facebook. I know that I spend waaaaay too much time on there, but it did reconnect me with some friends from ages ago.

Similar story happened to my GF, only her email acct was hijacked. This was followed by identity theft...beware.

That's what Alison and I were talking about last night - we pretty much know if something big is going on in our lives.

FB reset my account, and I've deleted as much personal info as possible from my profile. I'm debating on whether or not to take my photos offline, too. All of my passwords everywhere but here have been changed, so I still need to take care of this one.
