My Christmas present

Post by pamcook »

Before I went to the UAE, Joel surprised me by buying hardwood for our front room. He worked in it all this week and finished it today. I started the painting on Christmas but didn't get finished. Worked on it tonight and only have the bit over the window left. I'm also painting the backs of the shelves. It's getting there. Will post again once the stuff is all back in.

Wow! Your floor is beautiful! What kind of wood? What a wonderful gift and great job by Joel. Nice wall color too. You two are so industrious! And energetic!

What a great gift! Was that wall unit always there? Love the phone, too!

We've had the wall unit for almost 10 years now. I want to paint it white. Joel says no. I don't care enough to argue about it so I'm just painting the back of the shelves white. Going to paint the front door & hall door Cracked Pepper.

The flooring is hand scraped oak. Would have gone slightly lighter in this room but the floor in the family room is the same.

Painting the backs of the shelves will make a big difference reflecting the light.

beautiful! Love it.

We painted our bedroom and got new carpet (after 27 years  ) right before Christmas. New drapes and now I need to find new lamps and artwork. But it's sooooo nice having a fresh room!

Painting is done. Joel's going to replace the electric outlets (they're old and plugs fall out easily) and install a ceiling fan. Then I can start bringing back in the "stuff".
