My Son the Scrapper!

Post by paddlegal »

Charley came to me last Wednesday and asked for a little guidance in making a scrapbook to give to Jess, his girlfriend of two years. This Wednesday is their 2nd anniversary. I immediately thought of a PL style book. He sent me the photos, I printed them, scrounged an assortment of pocket page protectors and showed him how this system worked. He started law school a few weeks ago and has been a bit swamped with studying. So I jumped in a little and put photos only into protectors. Today I gave him the PL Kraft Edition box and let him go to town. He did a great job and got pretty inventive when configurations became a challenge. I'm sure Jess will be really touched and pleased with this gift. She in her own right is very artistic and always makes handmade cards for Charley! Yes...I like her a lot...for many reasons :D

Meanwhile, while I was attempting to print all those photos my 10 year old HP Printer decided to misbehave and give me fits. Finally Bob and I agreed it was time for a new printer. Off I went to Best Buy and picked up a Canon Pixma MG7700 printer. LOVE it!

I'm just posting the cover and 2 of the pages Charley made. He is in the process right now of doing all the journaling.

It is now done and will be presented tomorrow. He has journaled thoroughly each photo with some very funny recollections and sweet sentiments. He has taken after his dad in that. I'm excited to hear how it was received...and he knows she is doing something special also. He is suspicious that she may have done something similar.

That would be too funny if she gave him a scrapbook also. He did a great job on this; I'm sure she will treasure it. I really like the little photo collage in the cover window; must remember to try that on one of my own albums.

Oh Gosh! So sorry. I haven't been home much the last 3 days. Well of COURSE she LOVED it! And when she had time to really read through it there were tears I am told. What is so cute is that though she made him a "card" it was more like a 6 page pamphlet style album using many of the same photos that Charley used with very similar sentiments on very nice heavy natural colored card stock. She made it on her computer and it was beautifully done...she is very talented. Those two are so smitten with each other...it's love.

So very glad that it was well received! I'm thinking it does sound like they were made for each other.
