Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Finally, I made it to creating a post. I started to do it this morning but I got lost in all the Tips and Techniques that I have missed over the last year or so. It is funny to read about "new" ideas that are all part of our regular repertoire now. How we have grown!
Anyway, I've wanted to create some backgrounds using up embossing powders to create shiny areas over dull areas. With my limited resources here of some basic powders, black, silver and clear, and some inkpads, I did a few experiments on white and kraft Club Scrap cardstock. I can't wait to try some of my more interesting embossing powders at home.
the orangish one has black and silver ep and a lot of gold paint over the inks.

Re: Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Here is a blue and green version. It also uses black and silver ep and some dabs of gold metallic paint.
White areas are actually the silver. I don't know how to turn flash off on DH's camera.
I think these will look good cut up into card fronts.

I think you're right - they'll make gorgeous card fronts. Very cool!

these are really stunning and would make great card fronts or mini book covers!
Re: Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Gorgeous - and I bet ever better in person! I especially like your close-up shots; they really show the texture well.
Re: Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Very pretty. I especially like the blue one.
Can't wait to see how you use them.

I love the look of that technique!! The blue appeals to me too, I think it is just the combination of colors. And the texture! Awesome

Where's the stick your tongue out blinkie when you need one?
Re: Inked and Embossed Backgrounds
Actually, they're pretty enough that you could just sign them, name them, and sell them for big bucks as abstract art. Just be sure to invite all of us to your gallery opening.mpizzazz wrote:Thanks everyone for your comments. You mean I have to use them now, Sue?pugmom wrote:Very pretty.
