I'll go ahead and start this for today since I didn't see one from Monica.
I've been at this all day mostly because I have to look for substitutes and I have no decent glossy paper (which I have ordered). And while you have the stuff out, you might as well make a few other things, don't ya know?

Here are the other experiments which I hope I can use for something sometime.
Just got home from the store (went to buy Glossy paper) and of course no luck finding it.
Dang it. I know I have some around here somewhere! I just saw it when I was purging my supplies.

Oh yes!! I found the Glossy paper! After I do this layout, I'm going to play.
I found mine, too, Pam. Turned out it wasn't glossy but very slick clay coated that worked better than the cheapo Staples "glossy" paper that was all I had. I really must stop using offcuts of photo paper for glossy paper so I have ordered some of the Ranger stuff.
FYI... Joann.com has a sale going on right now regarding all scrapbooking (including stamp stuff) and they sell the LaBlanche stamping stock (the stuff Tim said Ranger buys and repackages for US sales). And yes, I checked... it is on sale...
I hope I can find my stash of clay-coated matte paper to use when we need it. I know I have some around here somewhere! Glossy is easy to find; I bought a ream of it a few years back and still most of it left to play with.

Yeah, I had no archivals except for black so had to improvise and didn't get the effect at all. Normally I would just use paint for the bright resist but I was trying to use inks as instructed. I might try it again with paint. I love your image of the city lights in the rain at night, Elizabeth.
Thanks, Monica, but I don't know if I want to trek to the closest JoAnn (30 miles away) on the off chance they might have it. Does Staples have anything worth getting? That's only 16-18 miles. My flimsy glossy came from there and I am now just using it for printer paper just to get rid of it. I think there is a heavier weight.

I don't have any archival inks in lighter colors anymore; I used to, years ago, but I found myself using the Adirondacks more so and got rid of them. Of course, who knew that years later I would wish that I had kept those inks?

I bought a box of double sided glossy brocher (sp) papers
and it works pretty well for a number of things.
I'm printing all my weekly chronicles on it in landscape at 8 in square
They've added to the original line of Archivals, and I think some of them have also disappeared from the current selection. When I started stamping (around 1998) the Ranger pads were far superior to anything else at the time. I have a full set of the original style of Adirondack pads, and I used to have a few of the Seashells and Sea Brights (now called Adirondack lights and brights). Ranger has vastly expanded their product lines since then but the quality is still superb.
