Digi LO: Nicole's first concert
Digi LO: Nicole's first concert
I recently dumped a bunch of pictures from my phone, and had realized that Nicole's first concert was scrapworthy. These are from August 2010, when we took Nicole to see Rush. This digi kit, called "Steampunk" is the perfect match to their set decoration.

Rush was her first concert? How cool. Chris' first was the Moody Blues. (Justin Haywood can park his guitar in my bedroom any time he wants!) (Oh gosh, did I really say that???)

She'll really enjoy that layout in years to come! Ok, who are Rush and Justin Haywood?

Re: Digi LO: Nicole's first concert
When I was in High School/early college, I made it a point to see Chicago every time they came to town. One of those times, they co-headlined with Moody Blues, and at the end, they joined up and did some of each others songs with both bands. It was one of my favorite Chicago concerts ever.
Rush is kind of a classic rock band, and they've been together around 30 years. They were never really "pop" rock like Journey or Aerosmith or others that got a lot of cross-exposure in the 80s between rock and pop stations. They're Canadian, and never really did the typical rock scene with the partying and drugs and such. They weren't a band that ever made the news. But they have a loyal following. Of all of the Rush concerts I've been to (10 or so?) I've never been to a show that wasn't sold out.
Another big difference is that their lyrics and style are different, without being "out there". It would seem that where Rush is concerned, you either have people who are superfans, or people who are all like, "who?". There doesn't seem to be much in-between.
Thanks for the comments everyone. That steampunk kit was a freebie I downloaded YEARS ago, and I was just going through my organizer recently and rediscovered it. Combine that with my recent downloads from my phone, and I figured I had to do a layout.

Wonderful layout Julie. I have heard of Rush but know nothing about them.

Know what's funny about Rush? Chris discovered them when he was in HS. They seem to pop up in each generation.

Thanks for 'splaining, Julie!
