2012 Camp PAO-WOW art!
Re: Painting Class
I spent the day in the painting cabin finally locating my mojo. Should have looked in here in the first place.
Started with a piece of watercolor paper I had used for leftover paint the other day when I was making the trinket box. This started out with green dots stenciled all over the bg with the green paint. Today I stamped the By the Seashore remix saying a few times and then added a 4 color twinkling H2O wash over the whole bg starting an underwater scene. Then I decided to stencil some glass bead gel on that looked like swirling water and waves. Spritzed that with memories mists Margarita and Blueberry. Stamped the CS sea turtle and jelly fish in some green paint and then over stamped with black archival. Added some little schools of fish, washed some more watery paint over the top and then took an old shower brush and white paint to add white bubbles. Finished up with some more glass bead gel at the bottom and some multicolored beads.
The next piece started with the reverse print of the Written Word stencil that I used for the wave in the previous piece. I used it with both the mists and the glass bead gel so it has some of both on it. I turned it and thought it looked like a vase of flowers so I drew out the vase and some flowers with a black paint pen, then played with the distress markers. Added a wash of yellow Twinks and stamped my script stamp in Antique Linen in the bg. Might add a little more to it, but going to let it stew for awhile now.

Re: Camp Mail - cards
After I found my mojo in the painting cabin I wondered on over to the card cabin with some cards I started the other day. I was trying out the new TJ tech Distress Spritz and I really didn't like the outcome so I dug through my drawers and came across this flower soft stuff that I bought like 2 years ago. Added some glue to the stenciled parts and the flower soft and decided they had spruced up a bit so I finished the cards. They're not my favorite, but it was an interesting technique and I really like the fuzzy flowersoft bits.
Guess these would fit into category 3.

Re: Technology Class - digital scrapbooking
I saw a bird at my feeder today that I hadn't seen before. I think it is a House Finch. Got a great shot of it and then played with it digitally. The original photo is on my blog. If you know what bird it is, let me know.

Re: Painting Class
Wow, I've missed a lot in this thread. Everyone is having fun with it.
Here is my feeble attempt at a landscape based on what we see out of our windows here in Mellrichstadt. This started out as a cork hotpad with a lighthouse scene on it. I had saved 3 of them from the NJ house to use as canvases. Before we left home, I sanded and gesso'ed it and made some marks in it with stencils. Then I used some oil pastels to do a basic green and blue background.
But when I got here, I had only brought gouache paints with me. Oil base and watercolors are not very compatible I had to get fairly heavy handed with the gouache for it to stick or else scrape the whole mess off and start over which I probably should have done.
I've added Ray's blog to my signature line as he is blogging the trip as we go.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Horseback riding
Oh, I thought this was the sports category. Good thing I looked at it, I can add my poppies here. I see them everywhere I 'ride' here in Germany.
This is atc size on watercolor paper with gouache.

Re: Painting Class
Heather (my son Paul's gf) and I took a class in embossing and painting metal yesterday. Really had a great time and learned a really cool technique. There were alot of steps, but the end result was wonderful.
The 3 on the left are the one's I did and the 3 on the right are Heather's.

Re: Fiber Arts
Had a great time at my quilt class today. Unfortunately, the church where my group met to work didn't have wifi so I wasn't able to skype with them, but I was very productive anyway.
We chose the Louisiana block for our quilt this month and we went with a red, white and blue color scheme. I cut out my initial fabric a few days ago so all I would need to do is sew today.
