January 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
January 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
Well, it's not yet the Epiphany so I guess I'm not toooo late for the January card sketch. Here is what I have prepared. I'm not so focused on the "sketch" per se. But I'd like to see variations on the pie chart idea.
While looking at sneak peeks for CHA stuff last night (enabled by Farley), I fell upon the new stencils by Crafters Workshop. Ohmygosh, I am dying to get my hands on the camera one. But anyway, there is a cool one by Ronda Palazzari for a pie chart shape. Got me thinking of all sorts of things to do with them.
So here is the sketch:

Re: January 2013 Card Sketch Challenge
With all these ideas flying around in my brain, my first effort is this simple card.
Normally, I would procrastinate like crazy, delay because I would want to fire up the Silhouette and create the shapes, etc. in that program and then cut them out on the Silhouette and make a big production out of it. This morning, after my oatmeal, I just decided to dive in and FREECUT my pie chart. Now, if you don't know me well, you can't possibly recognize what a big moment that was for me. HA HA HA....just laughing at myself. But in case you are wondering why my circle and shapes are a bit wonky...it's all hand cut.
The papers are from Simon Says Stamp card kits, mostly November, using the Basic Grey Serenade papers. There's also a snippet of my new (first ever) Wendy Vecchi stamp. And a stamp from another Simon Says card kit and my SSS Banners die. I guess this is a Simon Says Stamp card. Except the base which is just generic kraft.
Thanks for looking and I hope you will play along with me.
And it occurs to me that I should link you to the stencil which inspired me. That way I can enable you to want one, too.

Oh you did it! It turned out fantastic and I LOVE all the paper/textures you used. Getting some mileage out of that banner and stamp too...cool.

That is so cool, Jen. I need to do a special HB card in the next couple of weeks. I'm going to let this idea percolate a bit.

Here are two cards I made this afternoon. Using paper from a pad that Monica gifted me last year - I believe a prize for some cyber-crop. It's languished in my drawer for TOO long!

I used some circle nestablilties. Cut a black then one size smaller circle of three papers. then I cut in half, in half again and then the last pie shape I just eyeballed with my scissors.ScrappinJen wrote:LOVE these, Nancy. How did you cut your pies? Thanks for joining me.
