Non-Sketch Holiday Cards

Post by paddlegal »

Today was the perfect day to stay cozy and out of the rain, sip homemade Peppermint Mocha Lattes and make cards. I have a pile of half made flip-it cards and now they just need embellishing. You'd think I would have made a ton today. No way. I belabored all day and made 3 complete cards.

Anyone else make cards this weekend?

Ah, but they are terrific! One of these days I'll get the die to make one of them.

Oh, these are all adorable. I love them all but you know my fave is the cardinal one. Love.
Whose paper is that?
It looks a bit Charley Harper-ish!

I did make quite a few this weekend but yesterday was taken up with trying to successfully make my own plaid, which was the Make It Monday challenge at Paoertrey Ink. It's harder than it seems. Especially with a short stamp.

Anyway, it's a birthday card for a dear friend turning 70 this week. He's an avid bicyclist so this stamp set was perfect. I used the holiday papers that were out on my desk so it fits the Holiday card theme. I am happy with it. For once.

What cute cards!
It would have probably taken me all day to make one, Farley, having to choose all the prints and embellishments!
I really like the plaid, Jen.

these are all terrific!

Now that you have those made Farley it's easy enough to duplicate and it won't take so much time!
It's the first round figuring-out that is a time sucker!

Jen your card is such a winner! I think your plaid is wonderful and every element of your card is a delight. Your bike buddy will love it for sure.

and... Jen... cool idea on the Happy December Birthday stamping.... easy to do with some month stamps I own... I'll be copying that... maybe even tonight... have to make a card for mom-in-law's b'day ...

I'm almost finished with my Christmas cards, hopefully by this weekend they will make the mail run, only had 20 to do and send out this year, I haven't made any in a few years, but needed to get back into the swing....

Thanks Theresa. If you dare look, there are so many of these Flip-It dies by Stephanie Barnard. They are a ton of fun to play with and a great way to use up paper stashes and those addictive 6x6 pads of patterned paper that keep jumping into my shopping cart.
