I'm Home and Ready for Crafting.....Well Almost

Post by azemigh »

Hi everyone! I'm home and I've moved my mom into a retirement community here in Florence. She's been here about 2 weeks now and is settling in. Things are good, some tough changes and some easy changes, but we're getting there. One of the things my mom couldn't fit in her new apartment was a beautiful desk that a friend of hers built for her about 25 years ago. It's really big and I really wanted to use it for my sewing table, just wasn't sure we could swing it. Well, today we decided to to give it a try and it worked! Now, I just have to put everything in it and then I'll be able to use my room again. It has all kinds of built in organization and has a beautiful finish.

That desk is absolutely beautiful and practical. Your mom will appreciate having a piece of "home" there when she's visiting with you.

Got things organized and put in place; I even have a little room left in the end cupboard of the desk. Now, to find some time to play.

I keep wondering, what are the shelves of the narrow slots for? Or is that just the way the shelves were made? It is a gorgeous piece of furniture.
