Week 5 Summertime challenge

Post by pamcook »

Final challenge for this series. For some reason, I thought all this extreme heat would keep us all indoors creating. There are no deadlines for these challenges. Would love to see your creations.

This week is Travel. Near or far.

Thanks Debi. I really struggle with sunrise and sunset pictures. Nothing seems "good enough" when I choose colors. This time I wanted to highlight the corals and purple/greys. Not sure I'm 100% happy but I do like it a lot.

Wow, that sky is stunning. I think you have accented it very well with your colors and smudgy inks.

Pam don't question this LO. You nailed it! The colors are perfect but they don't take away from that amazing sky. And as usual, your clusters are terrific.

This layout is gorgeous. I know what you mean about choosing colors. When I have a great sunset photo, it's like I just can't find the right paper for it. I guess we just have to give into it and scrap it. You have done a fabulous job with this one.

Thanks ladies! It could be that all the dark colors in sunset photos throws me off. It also could be that I don't want to distract from the colors. This time I tried to highlight that coral/orange of the sun and the purple/grey of the clouds became the neutral. Maybe it's because the sunset feels so dramatic? Or all the above!

Layout from May 1981 and a visit to Solvang on our way to LA. I guess I was waiting for this kit to scrap the photos. Delft from Club Scrap. For the title, I used foiling products I bought twenty years ago and never used. My result wasn't great but my new mantra is "good enough." I'll keep working at it and maybe I'll be happy with the results. So I am requesting bonus points for using an ancient product. Shiny challenge on PSL.

Pam - great challenge and beautiful layout! I agree that the paper and accents really draw out that sunset.

Jen - I love your layout too. The colors are just right.
