Balance
Balance
Yesterday's art journal page. I'm working on just trusting the process and seeing where it takes me step by step rather than trying to plan the page first, and it's a victory when I can decide what to do after the background is finished. I started with a bit of gesso for texture before the paint, and then rubbed Silks Acrylic Glaze overtop which adds the glimmer. The diecuts are all coloured with Distress Oxide inks. Added a bit of stamping and some leftover TH rub-ons. I really like the size of this small Dylusions journal, but definitely prefer the type of textured background I did on my bird silhouette page a few days ago to paint applied with a brush - good to know!

Re: Balance
Probably my favourite and most-used distress technique, wrinkle-free. Put the inks on my craft mat, spritzed them with water and dragged the paper around in it. This time I die-cut my pieces first, but sometimes I colour the paper and then die-cut out of it. I did manipulate the brown to get it where I wanted it; picked some up on a Fantastix brush to colour the coconuts.paddlegal wrote:Keitha this is terrific! I like your palm trees...hand painted?
Re: Balance
I like the idea of painting/inking the diecuts.... then they match everything perfectly. I need to start die-cutting white cardstock!
Great journal page!!
