Yesterday's art journal page. I'm working on just trusting the process and seeing where it takes me step by step rather than trying to plan the page first, and it's a victory when I can decide what to do after the background is finished. I started with a bit of gesso for texture before the paint, and then rubbed Silks Acrylic Glaze overtop which adds the glimmer. The diecuts are all coloured with Distress Oxide inks. Added a bit of stamping and some leftover TH rub-ons. I really like the size of this small Dylusions journal, but definitely prefer the type of textured background I did on my bird silhouette page a few days ago to paint applied with a brush - good to know!

Probably my favourite and most-used distress technique, wrinkle-free. Put the inks on my craft mat, spritzed them with water and dragged the paper around in it. This time I die-cut my pieces first, but sometimes I colour the paper and then die-cut out of it. I did manipulate the brown to get it where I wanted it; picked some up on a Fantastix brush to colour the coconuts.

I like the idea of painting/inking the diecuts.... then they match everything perfectly. I need to start die-cutting white cardstock! :-)

Great journal page!!
