FARLEY...
Re: FARLEY...
Thank you Debbi and Pam! I had a wonderful birthday and it’s not over yet. Tonight Bob and I are going out to dinner while my son has law school friends over (all day and into the night) to play DND. We’ll be keeping a low profile while we are home. It’s great that he and his friends have a day to let off steam. They just had their first 3rd year mid-term last week.
Yesterday was a delight! My step daughter and grandkids came over after Nathaniel was out of school (1st grade) and brought all sorts of fun gifts that he and Vanessa (4) had made for me. Photos below. We then caravaned out to my home away from home, Cosumnes River Preserve to bird and watch the evening fly-in of the Sandhill Cranes coming in to roost for the night. Nathaniel is becoming quite the birder. I had so much fun pointing out life birds to him. Once he saw one, he’d immediately jot the name down in his bird journal. He was really into it last night. Vanessa not as much but enjoyed watching the various birds in the ponds through my spotting scope. Grandpa was great at helping her out. Charley too is a terrific uncle to them and kept Vanessa busy when she got a little tired of the birds, LOL.
The tree with the birds was made by Nathaniel for me. He said “Now you will always have birds to look at”. How cute is that? He really has talent, draws well and spells the birds I gave him really well also. Vanessa’s bracelet was adorable. One problem...it fit like a tourniquet! Hahaha...I wore it for about 10 minutes until my had started to turn blue. Can you tell I’m a typical gushing “Gammy”?

I posted on FB yesterday, but happy birthday! Looks like you got some great gifts from the grands, and what fun to take them birding!

Great photos and hand made gifts from the grandchildren are the best! Even cooler that Nathaniel is loving learning new birds!
