I received Monica’s beautiful card, today. I must know how you made the background!

Can I claim it a crafting secret?BekiWard@msn.com wrote:I received Monica’s beautiful card, today. I must know how you made the background!
Okay, okay... sheesh. No need to send Tawanda after me!
Firstly I covered plain white cardstock with a roll of double-sided adhesive similar to this roll. You leave the backing on the other side and die cut it into whatever shape you want. I was using an older Spellbinders Card Creators dies set that die cuts a solid base and a deco one for the top. I cut the adhesive covered paper with the base one then cut the top layer in metallic paper (used stash I've had for over a decade!!), carefully peeled away the backing and placed the top diecut down.
You want to do this next step where there is no breeze, animals that might intrude, etc. Slide a large piece of text weight paper underneath it (I just use copy paper) and then you sprinkle Cosmic Shimmer gilding flakes on top and carefully burnish them into the adhesive with a small piece of Ranger scrub-it cut from the larger foam. Beware though... this stuff is very lightweight and prone to trying to go everywhere.
There are a ton of videos on Youtube, this will get you started. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muM1uwVN47I

Received Pam's cute teddy bear yesterday. My piano is looking well loved, even if the puppy doesn't appreciate my playing!
