Tornado in Maryland.. Marianne are you guys ok??

Just saw photos that Wendy posted in Facebook.... checking to make sure Marianne is ok because apparently a tornado went through their area.

Pam just called me. You guys know more about it than people in our county! Yes, we had a tornado. It went through the State Park called Elk Neck State Park. We live a few miles below where the damage was. There are two sections to the Park and our community is between them. Our power was out for at least 14 hours during the night and we had rain but not excessive wind here.

We were going out this morning having no idea about the tornado. All the traffic was turned around to go home for another hour until they fixed a pole or tower. We went out about 10:30. The devastation of the trees is incredible. So many are down or broken off that we can see a lot more sky and much further into the park.

We got back home about 2 and the power is on and both lanes of the road were open. But the park headquarters was not visible because of all the trees in their parking lot.

Thanks for asking, Debi. We had gone out and got turned back by the road crews. Going by Wendy's house they were out packing the car for their weekend getaway so we told them about the hour delay. What her photos don't show are all the broken trunks of trees left standing, all the branches and leaves are on the ground. I can't imagine what it would be like if it had gone through the area with houses.
