Debi, good to know they got there. Took a hint from you, and recycled a few Christmas card fronts received from past PAO card swaps. Genius idea!
Glad you were able to go away for a bit and enjoy yourselves.

I'm going to Ocracoke tomorrow!! Mike and I have the truck loaded up - two rolling book carts for the library, the toys from Mattel, gift certificate for the library, another one for the science teacher, books from Marianne for the library, and some other small things we're stuffing in whatever space is left. I'm looking forward to delivering all these super things! We'll be taking photos for sure!

Had a terrific day in Ocracoke!’ Waiting now to drive the sand path next to the new pavement to get up to the ferry. The roadway opens tomorrow!! Wonderful news and huge progress.

The toys were welcomed at the free toy “shopping” setup. And those folks have extended the “shopping” for three more days. They had lots of goodies there!

The librarian was thrilled to get her two new large rolling book carts. Marianne - she was excited with all the books. Several were ones that she remembered having to throw out after the storm. So she’s happy to have them back.

The school principal was super happy to get the gift certificates for school equipment. Carolina Biological had donated $500. That’ll be a huge help.

So we ate lunch and dinner out and bought some Christmas gifts at the bookstore. Helped the island economy a little. And now we’re going to get home later than we panned because they cancelled a ferry. Hope Chevie is ok. A long day for her. She’ll gat extra snuggles.

Not sure how I missed this message but am just seeing it now. I am so glad that all your efforts worked out and have helped Ocracoke head toward normal.

Hope Chevie has forgiven you by now.
