Yesterday was Yorkshire Day and I met up with a few friends from our Yorkshire Countrywomen's group for a cup of tea and a cake. We went down to the tea garden by the river at Sleights and set our chairs up on the grass for a "socially distanced" chat.

I'd love to do that, but after the mail was delivered and no goodies there USPS finally updated their tracking. Now it's going to be Monday. Same thing happened with my Friday scheduled delivery via UPS. I'm starting to think they're in cahoots to make my weekend as dreary as the weather will soon be.

As for showing most of those CC goodies - bet you can guess witch holiday most of them are for!

I think we're in the clear from the storm. If it stays on its track, it'll go up more toward the middle of the state. Coastal SC might feel it too. We'll get ocean overwash in the places we're used to. Things won't be as crazy as they can get when there are tourists freaking out about the roads being impassible for a while. This also cuts the population drastically so there will be fewer emergency calls.

Chevie likes how quiet it is outside. Me, too.

We'll be prepping for wind tomorrow morning. Mostly taking the canopy off of the swing so it won't turn over again and rip the top, putting cushions in the garage, making sure the generator works so we can at least have lights, and a few more odds and ends like that. I wouldn't be worried about the wind if I hadn't already had the swing overturn and rip the canopy, and we've been having power interruptions a lot recently for one reason or another. We have lots of gas on hand "just in case."

Welcome to more of the endless year called 2020.

I want a do-over or a refund.

I need to bring in our rocking chairs. It’s eerily still here this morning. Dreading all the calls to reschedule appointments that’ll be in my voice mail this morning. Every one of them will tell me there’s a storm coming (thanks for that). It could all be my fault Pam P (the storm track). I’ve been praying for rain. :tomato:
