You Know It’s HOT When...

...it’s too hot and smokey to go birding. Sacramento and the Central Valley has been experiencing a record breaking heat wave and unfortunately along with that means fires up and down the state. We are safe but are surrounding by fires and smoke. Today, 110*, was day #7 in a row of triple digit heat with 10 more days of this in the forecast. So what to do? Make cards of course. Wishing for fallish weather I came up with this card. Ink blended CP inks over Marching Leaf stencil.

That is a beautiful card! The colors are perfect and the leaf design seems like it would be a great background to use with many types of layers.
We had our 100+ heat index days for over a week. Thankful for the slightly cooler weather this week. Be safe.

Great card Farley! I’m so looking forward to cooler weather , we are at an all time historical record of over 40 plus days of 110 or above. The highest this year so far being 118. The last 2 nights we have had a couple baby monsoons so no precipitation to speak of, a lot of dust and stuff blown around. I walk every morning at 5 am and always take a garbage bag to pick of oranges etc blown off trees. I haven’t got my CP kit this month but it’s out for delivery so looking forward to it. I made over 30 of the thin line cards! What else is there to do?

Currently the fire closest to us is only 22% contained and the smoke this morning is just horrible. I went out to pull my garbage can back in and was choking on the smoke. Itchy eyes and raspy throat is the norm right now. Stayed indoors all day yesterday and today has to be the same. And I thought quarantine was bad!

Farley the west is so very dry, the east has more rain than it can handle. I have a friend in Colorado who is facing the same that you are there in CA.
