Year Of The Ox
My boss’ wife challenged me this time! She wanted several red & gold Chinese New Year cards with an ox. Because I’m currently addicted to Karen Burniston die sets and totally fascinated with the mechanics she builds into them to create movement, I decided to use her Spinner Square set, but modify it so the ox twists out from behind the pop-up element inside. It took forever for the stamp set to arrive, so I’ve been trying to get them done this weekend.
Funny side note: when it looked as if the stamps weren’t going to arrive during the year of the ox, I found some kanji images, printed them out & took them to work, intending to copy them with the toner copier, bring them home & use my Minc to add gold foil. A Japanese client walked past my desk, very interested in knowing what I was doing. I told her the story & she gave me a lesson on kanji and educated me in the three languages of Japan. When I showed her the photos I had of my prototype, she turned my phone & said the kanji was upside down...when I showed her the next picture that had a coin in the center of the front element, she did the same thing!
SO...if anyone looking at these pictures notices the kanji on the coins is upside down... The stamps were easy because there was a legend in the set!

Re: Year Of The Ox
Thank you, Keitha!
Debbie, it WAS! I'm glad it's done...although I have a few duplicates to make; they always come easier after the first one's done though.
