INSD 2021 challenge - make embellishments for your photos (with sample)

Post by Monica »

I'm stealing this from DisneyScrappers, because I love the idea. Dig out your stickers, ephemera, tags, punched shapes, chipboard, etc... all those things that seem to multiply in the dark... pick some photos, and make embellishment clusters to match. I'm doing more Disney using the Simple Stories Say Cheese line, so I made a few clusters to match.

This are fun, Monica. I've been noticing a lot of scrappers around the interwebs making embellishment clusters lately: DisneyScrappers, MKGunn, Victoria Marie Designs to name a few - it seems to be a Thing right now. I've even seen title clusters made, incorporating a premade word title with embellishments. I've hesitated to do so, fearing when I go to put them on a page they'll either be too big or not quite right; you'd be right in suggesting I choose my embellishments very purposefully, depending on my photos and story. I'll have to see if I can come up with something that would work for me.

Keitha, I have a hard time doing them myself for that very reason! These ones I know I'll use simply because they aren't really that big and most of them can be journaling spots too. You could certainly set out to do a page and figure out what embellishments to cluster for it and create from there. There are no rules to this beyond me trying to use up more of the stuff that comes with kits!

A shabby chic tag, inspired by a challenge on another board. Not that I do many shabby chic pages, but it could also be a gift tag.

It’s so pretty! It would make a beautiful card as well.

Great challenge Monica! And you know I love the Disney embellishments. Keitha - gorgeous tag!

I suck at embellishments. I'm not trying to be all down on myself, but like, some people can't cook - I can't do embellishment clusters. That's why I'm so fond of page kits and why I tend to copy them EXACTLY.

Maybe I'll spend some time attempting this challenge tomorrow. I did spend the day trying to finish up a bunch of layouts that weren't quite done, so at least I did spend some time with my supplies today. :-)
