I believe it is because the GHM is in with their website. There is a lot of folks are shopping.

The shopping end of it has to be the reason. It's a public retail site and would take more hits. Here we're giving away ideas, inspiration and friendship. A much better bargain to my way of thinking.

Maybe that's why they made the darned site so convoluted.

Did you know that if you click on the "Ads by Google" things on the homepage then PAO makes a little bit of money? It's not much (think cents instead of dollars), but over time it'll help cover the cost of the web hosting.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

Thanks for the info, Pam. I think anything we all can do to help PAO, it will help us in return. Admin has done so much for us, this site rocks

I'm not sure how much this host is. The only experience that I've had with anything remotely like this was paying for the domain name for the marching band. It cost $100 for four years, but it's what the band director wanted so DH and I donated the fee. (scotlandband.org if anyone wants to look at it. Guaranteed to show you band uniforms that you won't see anywhere else.) Several of us have told Admin that we'll all contribute to the cost when it's time to renew - this is home and I don't mind helping with it at all. She wants to see if the Google ads will help offset the cost of it, but really hasn't publicized it. I think when it gets closer to time to renew the host she may call on those of us who have offered. At least, I hope she does.

Looks like this can cost as little as 6.95 to 200.00 per month. It depends on what you want to do!
