I was looking around Esty last night and saw a lot of amazing altered art and was inspired to do something today. I found a small mint tin with a slide off lid, painted it with alcohol inks, decorated the inside of the lid and mounted it on the upside down bottom. Wasn't there a shrine swap here not too long ago? As usual, I'm late to the party!
Has anyone ever altered a spoon? I thought that was such a cool idea. Some were painted with alcohol inks with vintage-y images in the "bowl". Others had little bitty objects embedded in resin in the "bowl". Do you think UTEE would work?

I've never done a spoon, but that came out GORGEOUS!

Gorgeous Sue! Alterend tins are just so cool
Not sure if the UTEE will stick good to a spoon, but no harm in trying.

That's what I was thinking, too. I think I've got some old flatware laying around, I'll have to give a try one of these days. (I don't think my mom would appreciate it if I used my grandmother's sterling silver stuff, even though its been sitting in my closet for years).

Try Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents if you want to embed. They both work in other metallic areas so maybe they'll stay in a spoon. Maybe you should lightly sand the bowl first with a low grit sandpaper to give it some tooth.
