How do you tell when it's done-when the smoke alarm goes off?

Ok, now's my big chance, DH is out and we just paid our house insurance this week so I'm good!!!

Ok, I tried it next to the window and the smoke alarm didn't even go off.

Christy, how did you spread the reinker around? Mine just sat there then I used a foam brush on one, a noodle brush on one and the canned air on another to get them moving. I also tried some Close to My Heart reinkers which spread a lot more, thinner than Distress. Those Distress are really heavy and concentrated. I used light colors and got dark (but not burned) results.

Did you use glossy card stock, Marianne? Just a thought...

Yes, I did use glossy cardstock, Sharon, but it isn't very heavy or very glossy. I should try and find something better.

I splattered the blue on first---when it was taking a really long time to dry I smooshed it with another piece of glossy cardstock (how I wound up with 2) when the blue was somewhat dry I added the yellow, smooshed both again

I love that effect! But I don't think I'd want to do anything that would set off the smoke alarm. And considering that we're expecting a winter weather Armageddon in the next few hours, I don't think I'll be trying anything outside any time soon. ;)

very cool - and yep, Christy's is better! Since I'm out in the garage I'll just open one of the big door when I try it!
