Altered Album

Post by mpizzazz »

Here are a few pics of a K and Company album that I altered. The vinyl covers were one of their popular prints of script and flowers, pansies, I think. It's a 6 x 6" and had lots of page protectors, perfect for all our PAO swap pages from last year. I painted all the edges and then added the handmade papers and one of my atcs that I made for the swap.

Thanks, I'm taking your advice and staying away from the vacuuming today!

What type of glue did you use? Did you sand and prime the vinyl before you painted? I have some really ugly vinyl albums that I'd like to alter.

I didn't sand the vinyl or whatever that stuff is but that is a good idea. I did cover it with gesso. I think I used the CS bookbinding glue, some of those handmade papers were thick. Along the edges I did acrylic paint, the dreaded dabbers! I wouldn't be surprised if that came off fairly easily but I'll worry about that later.

What a great idea, Marianne. I bet we all have some albums we'd like to recover.
