October 2009 Scrapbooking Challenge-Entry Published!
Re: October 2009 Scrapbooking Challenge
Here is my offering for this challenge. Based loosely on Becky Higgins November sketch using kraft cardstock and some old patterned paper from Hot Potatoes. Stitching done with pen and Paper Pizazz template around the perimeter, brads are on the journaling strips and the scallops are on top and bottom of photo blocks.
Thanks for looking.

Jennifer, those flowers are gorgeous. Great LO!
Re: October 2009 Scrapbooking Challenge
Great layout Jennifer. I like the way the scallops echo the shapes of the petals on the Proteas.

Re: October 2009 Scrapbooking Challenge
Thank you all for your comments. I am ashamed to say that I cannot name all of the flowers in my photos. I do know there are some Kangaroo paws and some Bottlebrush. Mom and I were in the Australia/New Zealand garden at UCSC so I know they are all native to that part of the world. There are some photos of Protea and, I think, some Australia variety of Grevillea and also some Banksias. I will try to do better in the future about writing down the names of the flowers I am photographing.
Oh, and a butterfly in there which I have not identified.

You did well for naming them without remembering, Jen! I tried enlarging the picture to look but can't make it very large before it blurs.
Going by silhouettes, the ones against the sky, lower right are the Kangaroo Paws, top right, maybe, the Grevillea; most of the other smaller ones are some kind of bottlebrushes, and the two Proteas photos. Any Aussies with younger eyes than mine want to help us out?

It's a weekend and the last two days to get your challenges in for October!!!!
Re: October 2009 Scrapbooking Challenge
Speaking of size, I had to make it smaller in order to be accepted but I noticed other submissions seem to be larger than mine. Any recommendations on the optimum size to use???? Thanks.
