Look What They Made!
Look What They Made!
You may have seen my altered bracelet I posted on the February Challenge #8: Everything Else. It was a sample of a my project that I had my neighborhood bead group do today. It was my turn to teach/lead. My project was to alter plain, nude wooden beads using Distress Paints, Ink and stamps. Then make a bracelet from them. Now these ladies know NOTHING about stamping but today they were like little children. They had a blast and I wanted you all to see their intense concentration while working and then their awesome results. I was so proud of them and their amazing creations. They are so excited that when it is my turn again in June they want me to teach them some card making, not beading, LOL.
They got so quiet you could hear a bead drop on the carpet. My own bracelets are the 1st and 6th ones. We had a terrific time together today.

Yay!
It's so important to have a sense of community. I love that so many of us are getting together with other women to have fun.

Those turned out great!
What a wonderful way to spend time with friends and neighbors!! So nice you can all get together!! Probably should print the instructions for them when you have the card making class--they will be hooked, and will want to make more

Re: Look What They Made!
That was a big success, every bracelet is beautiful. Did you just use Distress paints or stains as well?

I know, right? Me too!Debbie J wrote:I want to be your neighbor! Looks like a ton of fun!
I love each and every one of those bracelets. I'm curious - did you do anything to protect the paint/ink, or do you think that it would hold up fairly well without anything additional? On the rare occasion that I do wear something on my wrist, it's always banging up against a table or desk as I'm typing, and I wonder if that would eventually wear down the design. Or, if the colors would run if I got sweaty or wet. I guess you could cover them with clear nail polish or sometihng, eh?
Anyway, this type of project is now on my ever-growing list of must-try craft projects. Thank you for this!
