DH has been gone since Friday afternoon on a business trip, so I've been marathoning Stargate Atlantis and working on a canvas of one of my favorite characters from the show. I have a thing for cute, brainy guys with glasses.....
Doctor Radek Zelenka is a Czech scientist and a great character. This is one of those shows I really wish hadn't been canceled; it was such a great show! Anyway, after searching for photos online and printing off a bunch of them, I initially started out with the idea to scrap a couple pages on some space-themed papers, but it shortly evolved into a 24"x24" canvas. I used Lindy's Stamp Gang color shots on the canvas, pooling a color at a time and heating it with a heat gun, until I got the look I wanted. I was coordinating the color scheme with one piece of pp that I also attached to the canvas. Once I had everything attached I took it outside and generously sprayed it with sealer. SO, anyway.... here's the geeky fangirl's homage to Dr. Radek Zelenka.
