Took a fun class at Rosie's Art Carnival on Saturday. It was designed to try out the new envelope punch, but those keep getting delayed so she hasn't got them in yet. We used our Martha Stewart score boards instead. Worked just fine. It's an envelope book. Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet. It's got flowers on it so it could be the lottery project this month......mmmmmmmm?

Best news at the store was that they have an AA (Altered Art) group that meets second and fourth Thurs every month. Think I'm going to join!

This is the first layout from our trip to Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. This was such a beautiful place, very different from anywhere we'd been before.
The challenge elements are brads and die-cuts.

Here is my entry. I used the gelli background from Judy (I love it Judy!!) and the base is some old CS 8x11 I have had for years, the swirls, hearts and bird are all Tim die cuts. The ribbon is from my stash and the stamp is just one in my collection. The flowers are made from the napkin exchange we had at ReCreate last year and I painted with Smooch after I tried to unplug them for an hour I just gave up and painted them with a small brush, same with the hearts. I am trying to use up my Smooch or else get different bottles. They drive me crazy, one squirt and they are plugged!

I don't know if this is our thread for digis since it's got a 2012 inception date, but it's the one that I found, so I'm going with it.

This little guy was out gathering nest material this morning and he was so cute. He never stopped moving though, it was tough to get a good pic of him

Here is my entry. This is my middle DGD that lives in Denver. Ashley is a great athlete and a very good VB player. She has received letters from colleges expressing interest already and she will be a Junior. She's working as a life guard this summer so I hope I can get some photos of her doing that too. Her Mom says only 1 piece swimsuit allowed!!

I painted the wood element black and spayed with glitter. It took on a green tinge from the glitter which I was not happy about.

So I made this card for the June Sketch here as well as a challenge over at Club Scrap to use your oldest sentiment stamp that hadn't seen ink. This Hello from Gimme a Ring was still pristine until today. Now I learn that I really really like it. Hope you do, too. Three little wood veneer houses were a gift from Young Nancy and I really really like them, too.

I know I'm a dunce about this stuff so I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post this. I hope this is correct. This is the triangle card I made based upon Cheryl's challenge. But always the Multi-tasker, I also used two dies to make it. I used Club Scrap Wheel & Sprocket stamps and the Wild West remix paper along with Memory Box and Spellbinders dies. Hope this qualifies and that I'm placing it in the correct spot. Thanks for looking.

I finished up my Weekly Chronicles this month with the Destinations theme. One of our destinations every year is our favorite winery Kramer Vineyards. This was a special walk through the vines in April of 2012 just as they were budding out.

Camp Art Journal Class

Post by pamcook »

(Monica - please move this to the appropriate location.)

My AJ classes will focus on some background techniques. There are NO rules. Use any media you'd like. Because these are backgrounds, you can personalize them in any way with more layers.

This technique uses acrylic paint, light modeling paste, stencil and glazing medium.

Step 1 - tint your modeling paste wihth a drop of acrylic paint. Cover your entire page with the tinted modeling paste. I used a paint spatula to get more texture. Allow to dry.

Step 2 - place your stencil, use a paint spatula to lay down the modeling paste over the stencil. Remove the stencil & allow to dry.
